Continuous integration
Continuous integration, or CI, runs checks against a project’s changes. Nocturnal shows the GitHub Actions workflows already configured for your repository, so you can inspect the result beside the work.
Connect the repository
Connect GitHub on the computer running Nocturnal (gh auth login, or Settings → GitHub) and make sure the project has the correct GitHub remote. That GitHub CLI login must have access to the repository.
Inspect a run
Open CI to see recent runs and their status. Select a run to inspect its jobs, failed steps, annotations, and available log details. The commit and branch identify the work those checks ran against.
For a failure, read the relevant step and ask an agent to investigate with that context. Review its changes, then trigger the checks through your project’s existing workflow.
If the project has no CI yet
Create a GitHub Actions workflow in the repository that installs its dependencies and runs its relevant checks. The commands depend on your language and project. An agent can help prepare a workflow for you to review.
Nocturnal displays configured workflows; importing a project does not automatically establish CI or branch protection. Decide which checks and approvals are required before merging or deploying.
Passing checks and going live
A green check means that run’s configured checks passed. A deployment is a separate action unless your workflow explicitly includes it. Verify the intended commit and target environment before shipping.
