Live updates

After you sync project info, Nocturnal keeps the dashboard current on this computer. It does not run another intelligence scan.

Ports, processes, git status, and CI refresh in the background. Opening a tab can also pull a fresher snapshot when you need detail (a failed CI job, the Docs list, issues).

Site pages do not talk to the engine. Only the dashboard does.

What stays live

  • Ports — which services are listening, and when two projects want the same number
  • Processes — what you started in Nocturnal, whether it is running, and the live log
  • Projects — folders you have opened or synced, plus obvious candidates nearby
  • Git — the current branch and uncommitted files
  • CI — recent GitHub Actions for that repo, when a token is available
  • Scheduled loops — prompts you set to re-run on a clock

What is not constantly rescanned

Intelligence is a snapshot from the project scan. Docs and issues load when you open those tabs. Version notes are written when you increment. Agent chats update as you send and as the run streams.

Where it runs

This all happens on the machine running Nocturnal. CI is the one loop that calls out (to GitHub). A capped status mirror can go to the cloud so your phone can render the rail — What we track.
